Authorities say a father and son from Calabasas have died after their single-engine plane crashed in the Santa Rosa Valley.
The single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed around 3:30 pm on private property on Sunday in Ventura County. The two occupants, a 57-year-old man from Calabasas and his 15-year-old son died in the crash.
Witnesses told ABC 7 that they saw the play fly low over the area before the crash and that the aircraft had clipped at least one power line.
"Their flight originated from Camarillo," said Sgt. Eric Buschow with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. "All we know is just prior to impact the plane was flying very low. It landed in this horse arena behind us."
No cause for the crash was given. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
