Sketch of Armed Robbery Suspect Released by Irvine Police

Irvine police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at an apartment on Saturday. 

A 62-year-old woman was returning from a short walk around her neighborhood on Saturday when an armed gunman burst in to her apartment through an unlocked door, demanding cash and the jewelry she was wearing. After the victim complied, the suspect fled the scene. 

Police arrived on scene just a few minutes later, conducting an extensive search for the suspect, but he was not found. 

According to police, the suspect got away with gold jewelry and $300 cash from the victim. 

The suspect is described as being in his late 20s, with a medium build and short black hair. He was wearing a red and black striped sweatshirt and black pants.
