A Muslim woman, known only as "Sid," was criticized after she was seen wearing a burka with weapons spelling out the word "Love."
She spoke to Channel Channel 4 News journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy in the Rusholme part of Manchester, which has the largest Libyan community in Europe.
The group speaking to Krishnan Guru-Murthy condemned the attack, but viewers criticized "Sid" for the burka complete with a gun, grenade, knife, and machine gun.
"Sid" told the reporter:
"I don't need to prove anything. I'm a good Muslim, I know I'm a good Muslim, my friends, everyone I interact with, they know I'm a good Muslim. I'm not here to prove anything, but I'm here to say that we need to stand together, stand united, and help fight this. As Manchester, we are standing together. I was at the vigil yesterday, fantastic crowd. We were there together to support each other and that is what we are here for. We will tackle it together."
Viewers may have overreacted over her "Love" burka, but sorry "Sid." Standing at vigils will do nothing to stop future terror attacks.
Have we learned nothing?
