Chris Cornell is being laid to rest at Hollywood Forever Cemetery Friday, which will be followed by a public viewing of Cornell's burial site.
The late singer-songwriter was found dead on May 18th following a show in Detroit. Officials with the coroner's office released preliminary results from the autopsy that show the singer hanged himself. However, TMZ reported that "fresh track marks" were found on Cornell when his body was discovered in a Detroit hotel room.
Full toxicology results are still pending.
The singer's family disputes the findings that Cornell hanged himself, and claim that the singer may have taken more of an anti-anxiety drug than he was prescribed.
Cornell was one of the leading voices of the early 90's grunge movement. He was the frontman for Soundgarden, and recorded songs with Temple of the Dog and Audioslave. He is survived by his wife and two children.
