Restaurant patrons targeted in California fraud scheme

Twelve people were arrested as part of a federal investigation into a large-scale credit card skimming operation on Tuesday. The credit card skimmers were targeting Southern California restaurant patrons, using portable credit card skimming devices placed at a Huntington Beach restaurant.

FBI Spokeswoman Laura Eimiller says the early-morning raids on Tuesday in Los Angeles and San Bernardino targeted a pair of street gangs who reportedly compromised more than 500 credit cards, causing loses of more than a half-million dollars.

At least one of the defendant is being charged with large-scale drug sale.
