Two hikers making their way through Griffith Park discovered a decomposed body on Monday evening according to the LAPD.

The body was found near the Fern Dell entrance to the park, and is believed to have been there for about a month according to coroner's officials. The body was so badly decomposed, the age and gender of the deceased could not be determined.

Presently, foul play is not suspected, but police say they're awaiting a coroner's report before making a final determination.

This isn't the first time something like this has been found at the largest municipal park in the nation. Last year, hikers discovered a human skull, and in 2012, a 40-year-old man was convicted for killing his 66-year-old live-in boyfriend and scattering his body parts around the park.
