Belgian baby died after hipster parents fed him quinoa milk diet

A 7-month-old Belgian baby died weighing just 9 pounds, after his hipster parents fed him a gluten and lactose-free diet.

The parents, identified as Sandrina V. and Peter S, are on trial for the death of their baby Lucas.

Sandrina and Peter, both in their 30s, own a health food store and fed Lucas oat milk, rice milk, semolina milk, and quinoa milk because they thought he had an eating disorder.

Their lawyer said:

"Lucas had an eating disorder. He got cramps when he was fed with a bottle and his parents tried out alternatives."

How about taking him to the doctor instead to see if there's something wrong? You don't just jump to quinoa milk!

The diet caused Lucas to weigh only 9 pounds, which is closer to the weight of a newborn baby than a 7-month-old baby.

Local media reported that store customers reported that the child looked "emaciated" and "gray."

Peter S. said:

“We never went with Lucas to a doctor because we never noticed anything unusual."

But you guys claimed Lucas got cramps when he was bottle fed, and that's why you fed him the milk diet. That's when you should've gone to the doctor!

An autopsy of Lucas revealed he was dehydrated and his stomach was completely empty when he died.

Prosecutors ripped the parents for diagnosing the boy without professional advice, and are seeking 18-months for each parent.

Feed them nothing but quinoa milk in prison.
