Firefighters in Los Angeles have contained a small brush fire in the Tujunga area of the east end of the San Fernando Valley.
The fire erupted early on Wednesday, triggering a quick response from fire units. Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says 64 firefighters contained the blaze in under an hour. No injuries or loss of structures were reported. About two acres were burned.
Southern California fire agencies are keeping an eye on conditions as gusty winds prevail through the weekend. Forecasters say conditions are not critical, but there is potential for small fire growth thanks to the wind and drying crop of grasses that were spawned by winter rains.
