A junior varsity girl's basketball coach for Garden Grove High School was arrested after police say he communicated with a 15-year-old girl over social media and asked her to send him lewd photos of herself.
Michael Englemann, 51, was arrested Monday afternoon at the school according to Sgt. Ray Bex of the Garden Grove Police Department. Englemann was booked at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of one felony count of communicating with a minor to elicit child pornography. The coach is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond according to online inmate records.
Englemann is the current girls' junior varsity basketball coach at Garden Grove High School.
Englemann has been put on leave after school and district administrators were informed about the incident Bex said. Authorities say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
