(Los Angeles, CA) -- Eight people could be facing charges after they were arrested in a demonstration against L.A. County Sheriff Jim McDonnell. The eight were taken into custody during a rally outside the Sheriff's Department headquarters today. The group Caravan Against Fear is upset with Sheriff McDonnell over his stance against Senate Bill 54, which would limit local law enforcement agencies working with federal agents regarding immigration issues. The group claims Sheriff McDonnell's opposition of the bill means he's collaborating with what they call "President Trump's deportation force."
