Nine Year Old Wounded in San Bernardino Shooting Recovering "Very Well"

Nine year old Nolan Brandy is recovering after being one of three people shot in his North Park Elementary classroom.

Nolan was hit while he was standing next to his teacher Karen Smith when her estranged husband Cedric Anderson walked into the classroom and silently opened fire.

Smith died at the scene and Nolan's 8-year-old classmate Jonathan Martinez was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Nolan was originally listed as being in critical condition.

His parents Leon and Rachel say they are grateful for their son's recovery.

“Please continue to pray for him and also for Jonathan Martinez’s and Karen Smith’s families.”

San Bernardino City Unified Superintendent Dale Marsden says Nolan is set to leave intensive care and leave the hospital over the weekend.

“I did have a chance to visit today with Nolan, touched his cheeks and saw his beautiful smile.”

The school is set to reopen next week and they say they will be working to strengthen security measures to ensure future safety.
