FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Water rescuers are searching for two women who were swept into a central California river Thursday.
Tulare County sheriff's spokeswoman Teresa Douglass says the county's Swift Water Rescue Team will search the Tule River in the Sequoia National Forest.
The office received the call for help around 10 a.m. She says they believe the two are young adults.
Douglass says it is a rescue operation.
The search area is about 104 miles (167 kilometers) southeast of Fresno.
