The age of the "country oak" front door is happily coming to an end. That is of course unless you own one of the FEW homes where such a door is architecturally appropriate. Unfortunately a powerful trend of wood-grain honey oak doors took hold during the 80s and still hasn't really let go. Believe me, this had far more to do with door sellers pushing expensive doors than the right doors. Nowadays there are materials for entry doors like fiberglass that are way tougher, way more weather resistant, and way less expensive than the ol' oak monster. Plus, there's the added benefit of choosing the uniquely bold accent color, many of which can make an entry door far more dynamic then stain grade wood ever could. Here are but a few examples to inspire and encourage you not to shy away from paint grade doors.
