An elderly couple was robbed at gunpoint by three men -- who burst into their home Wednesday night and demanded money.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department said at least one of the robbers was armed with a rifle.
It happened in the 12100 block of Washington Blvd. in an unincorporated area of the County that borders Whittier.
Sheriff's detectives said they have no idea why this couple was targeted, and said a home invasion style-robbery was unusual for the area.
The couple wasn't hurt.
No one saw the robbers' car.
