Uber for Women: Family Starts Ride Share Company

An Orange County father and daughter started a ride sharing company for women, by women, to combat sexual harassment and assaults that have occurred with other apps.

William and Savannah Jordan, a father-daughter duo from San Juan Capistrano launched See Jane Go last year. The app only uses female drivers and only serves female passengers. According to CBS, the Jordans say “the more women worry about their safety when they travel alone, the more they are finding out about the company and signing up for the ride app.”

Last weekend, an Uber driver was arrested for sexually assaulting female passenger who fell asleep in the car. The Santa Ana woman was fortunately able to escape, but it’s situations like these that lead the Jordans to creating See Jane Go. The app is expected to eventually come to Los Angeles and San Diego.
