The Los Angeles Police Department asked for the public's help to trace the whereabouts of a mother and her four children, who may have spent time in Las Vegas before the children were burned in a house fire in South L.A.
Chiquita Jordan was arrested on suspicion of felony child endangerment this week and was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to police.
Jordan's children, ages 2-8, were severely injured in the fire on West Manchester Ave. January 16, and initially were not expected to survive.
Two of the children have now recovered and have been released from a hospital, the LAPD said Tuesday. The other two children are still receiving treatment.
Detectives said the fire in January started after Jordan left the children alone with lit candles, and so far, there was no evidence the fire was set intentionally.
Investigators have been trying to trace the family's living history in an effort to learn about how the children were being treated prior to the fire.
