LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles authorities are searching for suspects in the brutal beating of a 15-year-old high school student.
Sheriff's officials say Evan Jimenez, a freshman at San Pedro High, was beaten with bottles and choked while walking home from a friend's house last Thursday.
The Daily Breeze newspaper reported Sunday that doctors say the teen will survive but faces a long recovery.Sheriff's Sgt.
Eric Ford says detectives believe gang members carried out the attack. Officials have not released suspect descriptions.
