Senate passes crooked Kevin De León's "Sanctuary State Bill"

Today the California Senate passed crooked Kevin De León's "sanctuary state" bill SB 54, otherwise known as the "California Values Act."

What a gross distortion that name is!

The bill was approved on a party line vote, 27-12, and now heads to the Assembly.

SB 54 prohibits state and local law enforcement from using their resources to help federal immigration enforcement.

De León said today:

“We are trying to make our communities safer and be intelligent about this. No rhetoric and no bluster.”

Sen. Joel Anderson was one of the few Senators making noise about the dangers of this bill. He calls it the "greatest threat to Dreamers:"

“This is a difficult, difficult issue. But this bill doesn’t solve it. It creates more problems. It puts more Californians at risk.”
