THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Four people have been arrested on suspicion of being members of a burglary ring called the "Rainbow Crew" that targeted stores throughout California.
Thousand Oaks police say investigators estimate the group stole merchandise worth more than $100,000 from Los Angeles and Ventura County stores and upward of a million dollars statewide.
The agency began investigating on March 1 when a local business was targeted. Investigators learned the group committed five other burglaries that day from the Los Angeles suburb of Glendale to Camarillo in Ventura County.
Police say the suspects returned Tuesday to the same store victimized at the beginning of the month but fled in a vehicle when deputies arrived.
The pursuit ended in Santa Barbara County where California Highway Patrol officers used spike strips to stop the vehicle.
