Saturday Night Live is planning on doing something they've never done to close out their highest-rated season in almost 20 years....actually going LIVE!
The show will air their final four shows of the season live coast to coast.
Usually SNL airs live on the east coast at 11:30 pm then the Mountain and Pacific time zones get a taped delay showing
NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt says it's a great idea to go live all over the country.
“That way, everyone is in on the joke at the same time.”
Thanks to the recent changes in the political atmosphere, SNL has been raking in the viewers by the millions.
Melissa McCarthy and Alec Baldwin are major favorites because of their impressions of press secretary Sean Spicer and President Trump...even if the commander in chief himself isn't too keen on Baldwin's bit.
The coast-to-coast broadcasts will kick off on April 15th with SNL alum Jimmy Fallon as host. Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy and Dwayne Johnson will take the lead on May 6th, 13th and 20th.
