RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Southern California authorities are looking for a woman they say abandoned her toddler in a grocery store.A Riverside Police Department statement says the woman entered a Food-4-Less store Sunday with a 2-year-old girl who wandered off.The mother continued to shop and when a good Samaritan brought the child to her she was reported to have responded, "Oh just leave her."Police say the mother deserted the toddler after paying for the groceries.The child was shown a photo of the woman from a surveillance camera and called her "mommy."
The woman was described as 20 to 30 years old, of unknown race, with dark hair and apparent tattoos on her right arm. She was wearing a dark tank top and denim shorts.The child is in protective custody.
