Flippy, the ‘robotic kitchen assistant,’ took over humans’ role of flipping burgers at a fast-food chain in California called CaliBurger.
Miso Robotics is behind the creation of Flippy. “Much like self-driving vehicles, our system continuously learns from its experiences to improve over time,” said David Zito, chief executive officer of Miso Robotics.
The robot can easily be installed within five minutes and uses cameras and sensors to determine when the hamburger meat is fully cooked and ready to be placed on the bun.
Next year, CaliBurger will welcome additional Flippy robots and hope to reach 50 robots installed in the chain worldwide by the end of 2019.
