Dr. Wendy and Dr. Volkan sat down to talk about Narcissism, the different types of narcissistic people and hot to deal with them.

Narcissistic personalities are very common.

Dr. Volkan says that there are genetic components to narcissistic personalities but that research suggests that not everything is inheritable.

There is 1 narcissist for every 100 people.

Narcissistic personality disorder is one of several types of personality disorders.

DSM-5 criteria for narcissistic personality disorder include some of these features:

  • Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance
  • Expecting to be recognized as superior
  • Exaggerating your achievements and talents
  • Having sense of entitlement
  • Expecting social favors
  • Taking advantage of others to get what you want
  • Being envious of others
  • Believing others envy you

The list goes on and on, do you think you are a narcissist? Do you think you might be in a relationship with a narcissist?
