Nurses try to cheer up sick child with a song and dance routine

A 3-year-old girl has been in the hospital with a bad case of the flu but she is in the care of some pretty spectacular nurses who sang her favorite song to cheer her up.

A group of nurses at a Springfield, Illinois hospital performed "The Hokey Pokey" for Madison Austin after learning it was her favorite song.

Madison was born with Neuronal Migration Disorder, a rare birth defect that affects brain and muscle development. She has been in the hospital since early February due to the flu and several other infections.

"She's been pretty sick this stay," one of the nurses said told FOX11 . "So it's been really nice to see her kind of turn a corner. She lit up just being on the bed, bouncing and smiling."
