Vocal fry is the newest trend and it has to do with how you talk

You no longer just have an annoying voice, you have a medical condition called vocal fry.

The long dragged out sentences and ending sentences with a question mark have invaded youth culture and it might be affecting women getting a job.

A Duke University study saw that women with vocal fry were seen as less competent than someone without it. Showing that the way you speak has a direct impact on how you are perceived.

University of Houston Speech Pathologist, Ashwini Joshi. Says that men and women both have vocal fry but some people fall into it more. One cause could be from women trying to drop their voice to sound more authoritative.

Vocal fry is the next “valley girl”-type trend of speaking.
