Camryn Zelinger, a 32-year-old former teacher at Encore High School for the Arts, has been arrested on suspicion of molesting one of her female students. Riverside police said the specific reasons for arrest were suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor and annoying or molesting a child under 18.
The student is reported to be a 14 or 15-year-old female. The relationship lasted for months, and parents say that Zelinger would even request that the student be pulled out of other classes so they could spend time alone.
The relationship was only discovered once the student's mother noticed a change in her demeanor. Once she asked what was wrong, the girl told her all about the months-long relationship.
The high school has fired Zelinger.
Zelinger was released on bail yesterday. She is due in court in April.
