Music soothes the savage beast - especially if it's reggae and soft rock

What is best in life? If you're a dog, apparently a new study says it's reggae music.

Researchers from the University of Glasgow in Scotland say they studied the effects of music on dogs while playing. They say that the dogs in the survey had various tastes, and that "behavioral changes observed were maintained during the trial when the dogs were exposed to a variety of music."

Professor Neil Evans said that while most canines had their own individual music preferences, reggae and soft rock showed the highest positive change in behavior.

It's not the first time studies have shown the calming effects of music on dogs. A 2015 study by the Scottish SPCA showed that classical music also had a calming effect on our canine friends.
