6 journalists were arrested while covering D.C. Trump protests

We saw all kinds of stupid people rioting January 20th.  The so-called "peaceful" protesters ended up setting fire to a Muslim man's limo, costing him over $70,000 in damages.

The Guardian and the Washington Times have reported that at least 6 members of the media have been charged with felony rioting while covering the inauguration.

None of the arrest reports for the journalists make any specific allegations about what they are supposed to have done wrong.

The police reports just state that "numerous crimes were occurring in police presence," and that "the crowd was observed enticing a riot by organizing, promoting, encouraging and participating in acts of violence in furtherance of the riot.”

The following people face up to 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine if convicted:

-Vocativ reporter Evan Engel
-RT America’s Alex Rubinstein
-Documentary producer Jack Keller
-Independent journalists Matt Hopard, Shay Horse and Aaron Cantú

Each of the reporters have denounced the charges, either on their own behalf or through their employer.

A spokesperson for Vocativ called the arrest of its own reporter "an affront to the First Amendment and journalistic freedom."

At least 230 people were arrested in D.C. during Trump's inauguration.
