Luke Lampers, a 35-year-old from the Anaheim , is suspected of kidnapping Brianne Deese, 23, and killing a 49-year-old man on Jan. 11. Lampers was shot and wounded in San Diego by police.
Police believe that Deese was Lampers ex-girlfriend and that the man who was killed was a neighbor that Deese was staying with after her breakup with Lampers.
OC police worked with San Diego police to track down Deese and Lampers at a motel in San Diego. The police saw Lampers arrive at the motel in what was determined later to be a stolen car. A short chase followed which ended with an officer shooting at Lampers. He was hospitalized and is expected to survive.
