LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the ninth consecutive day, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.833.
The average price has dropped 4.4 cents over the past nine days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 3.9 cents less than one week ago but 2.7 cents more than one month ago and 67.6 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 68.3 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price decreased for the eighth consecutive day, dropping seven-tenths of a cent Thursday to $3.778. It has decreased 4.5 cents over the past eight days, including 1 cent on Wednesday.
The Orange County average price is 4.2 cents less than one week ago but 1.7 cents more than one month ago and 63.9 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 66.2 cents since the start of the year.
