October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, Ryan welcomes Dr. Jennifer Baker and Dr. Aashini Master from UCLA Health to discuss breast cancer awareness and the latest research and techniques used to treat those suffering from it.

Dr. Jennifer Baker is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist and Assistant Professor of surgery at University of California Los Angeles. Her research investigates epigenetic factors involved in tumor response to chemotherapy and novel techniques in breast surgery. Dr Baker's clinical interests include surgical management of breast cancer, breast cancer in young women, inflammatory and locally advanced breast cancer, oncoplastic breast surgery including aesthetic flat closures; skin and nipple sparing mastectomy; targeted axillary surgery. She serves as the associate program director of UCLA’s Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO)-accredited breast surgery fellowship and is a member of the UCLA Cancer Services Committee. She also serves on national committees for the SSO, American Society of Breast Surgeons, and is on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) breast cancer screening and diagnosis guidelines panel.

Dr. Aashini Master is a hematologist oncologist who practices in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. Dr. Master is board certified in hematology, medical oncology, and integrative medicine. She specializes in breast cancer, is active in the breast cancer research program at UCLA, and is clinical director of the High-Risk Breast Program. She serves on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) breast cancer risk reduction panel.
