Dr. Wendy always says relationships are far more about skill than luck. Here are some tips of tricks to help you fine tune that skill.

1. In your mind, date yourself. Instead of asking to be heard and attended to, ask yourself what it’s like being with you?

2. Give your partner less emotional value. Make sure your partner is a huge piece of your emotional pie, not the whole pie. Don’t drop friends and family for them.

3. Help Your Partner be Themselves. Focus on supporting individual goals over couple goals and common interests (which can lead to enmeshment)

4. Worry a bit. Act like your relationship isn’t secure and continue to court them.

5. Don’t just feel love, do something! Love is a verb, an action. It is not a perpetual feeling.
