Sara Walker, Senior Advisor on Wildlife Trafficking for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), discussed a new anti-wildlife trafficking initiative on Wake-Up Call. With over 20 years in conservation and advocacy, Walker leads the Wildlife Trafficking Alliance, a coalition tackling this global issue.

In collaboration with AZA, the Los Angeles Zoo has launched an exhibit at LAX's Tom Bradley International Terminal. It features confiscated contraband from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) and California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), including jewelry and accessories that illustrate the impact of illegal wildlife trade on endangered species.

Informational signs highlight the role of illegal trade in species extinction and encourage travelers to help preserve biodiversity by reducing demand for illegal wildlife products. The Los Angeles Zoo remains dedicated to raising awareness and reducing demand for illegal wildlife products.
