Are Recent Earthquakes A Precursor To Something Bigger For SoCal?

Southern California has been experiencing some recent earthquake activity.

  • May 31st - 3.6 quake in Ojai Valley
  • June 5th - Two quakes, the largest a 3.4 in El Sereno
  • June 6th - Three quakes in Costa Mesa-Newport Beach area, the strongest was a 3.6


These are making all of us a little bit nervous, (not to mention reminding us to run out and restock our earthquake kits,) but it's also making some wonder if these earthquakes are just an indicator that a bigger one is coming?

Susan Hough is a Seismologist with the US Geological Survey in Pasadena, she spoke to Amy this morning about this recent series of quakes and whether ot not we need to be worried about 'The Big One.'
