In a distressing incident, a 2-year-old French bulldog named Jennifer was stolen at gunpoint in Montebello, California. The robbery occurred Sunday night as Jennifer's owner, Mario Felix, and his wife were walking their dogs on Victoria Avenue.

Surveillance footage captured the moment a man confronted Felix, demanding his wallet, watch, and ultimately, his dog.

"He goes ‘give me your wallet, give me your watch’ and he goes ‘I’m taking your dog.' And I go ‘you’re not going to take my dog' and he put the gun closer to me and I just froze. He got my dog. He got the collar and leash and just ran with it," Felix recounted to FOX 11.

Despite the Montebello Police responding within a minute, it was too late; Jennifer and the 6-foot tall suspect had vanished. Felix expressed his concern, noting that Jennifer is on a special diet and requires medication.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about Jennifer's whereabouts to contact the Montebello Police Department.

This incident is part of a troubling trend in Los Angeles, where several French bulldogs have been stolen in recent years. Notably, in 2021, two of Lady Gaga's French bulldogs were stolen in Hollywood, and her dogwalker was shot during the robbery.

French bulldogs have been identified as the most popular dog breed in LA by the American Kennel Club, making them a frequent target for thieves.

As the search for Jennifer continues, her owners and the community are hopeful for her safe return.
