Elementary School Vandalized in Canyon Country; Possible Suspect Detained

CANYON COUNTRY (CNS) - Mint Canyon Elementary School in Canyon Country was placed on lockdown Wednesday after an act vandalism apparently caused by someone with a pellet or bb gun, authorities said.

Deputies were sent to the school in the 16400 block of Sierra Highway Wednesday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. No injuries were reported.

Authorities searched an area near the campus, and a possible suspect was detained in connection with the investigation, which was continuing, the sheriff's department said

The lockdown was lifted about 12:30 p.m., according to sheriff's officials.
