SANTA ANA (CNS) - A South Bay man pleaded not guilty Friday in federal court in Santa Ana to charges of kidnapping a woman, pimping her in Orange County and then raping her in the Angeles National Forest.

Leslie Anthony Bailey, 32, was arrested Thursday on charges in a grand jury indictment handed down Wednesday, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Bailey was ordered held without bail and a trial date was scheduled for April 29.

Bailey -- who prosecutors say was living on a boat docked in Wilmington -- was indicted on charges of sex trafficking, kidnapping, aggravated sexual abuse and two counts of using a cell phone for pimping, according to prosecutors. He allegedly used the phone for pimping another victim between March 7 and April 25 of last year, prosecutors said.

The woman was allegedly kidnapped on Feb. 5, 2022, and held for several days and forced into at least one act of prostitution in Anaheim, according to the indictment. On Feb. 8, Bailey allegedly drove the woman into the Angeles National Forest and raped her, prosecutors said.
