LAPD: 2 Teens Arrested in Shooting Death of Man in North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - Two boys, ages 13 and 14, were arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old man in North Hollywood, authorities announced Wednesday.

Jorge Ramos was gunned down on Feb. 20 at about 1:30 p.m. at Vanowen Street and Ethel Avenue, and he died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"Detectives worked continuously to uncover evidence, conduct follow- up investigations and ultimately to identify the two subjects responsible for this murder," according to an LAPD statement.

On Feb. 29, investigators served search and arrest warrants in the San Fernando Valley, police said.

"During the course of the search warrant service, the two subjects were arrested peacefully, and several items of evidence were recovered," police said.

The 13-year-old boy was arrested in Van Nuys, and the 14-year-old boy was arrested in North Hills, police said. Their names were not released.

According to police, prosecutors last week filed one count of murder against the 14-year-old and one count of accessory to murder against the 13- year-old.
