The JetBlue and Spirit Airlines merger is no more.
- The proposed $3.8 billion merger came to an end after a federal judge blocked the deal.
JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty said in a memo to employees, “ … With the ruling from the federal court and the Department of Justice’s continued opposition, the probability of getting the green light to move forward with the merger anytime soon is extremely low.”
- The Justice Department filed a lawsuit to block the airline merger citing it would lead to less competition and more expensive flight tickets.
