Shots Reported in Glassell Park, Prompting Police Standoff

GLASSELL PARK (CNS) - Shots were fired in a Glassell Park neighborhood Friday evening, leading police to establish a perimeter around a home where a suspect may have opened fire from a balcony, but no injuries were immediately reported.

Los Angeles police said shots were reported in the area of West Avenue 31 and Eagle Rock Boulevard. Police and Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the scene around 7 p.m.

Officers established a perimeter in the area and were working to contact the suspect, police said.

Unconfirmed reports from the scene indicated the suspect may have fired shots from the balcony of a home.
