A Turkish man, Nizamettin Gursu, faces charges related to the death of his girlfriend, Yesim Demir, who tragically fell 100 feet to her demise five months after he proposed to her.
Gursu was taken into custody following Demir's fatal fall from a cliff in Canakkale on July 6th.
Initially, Gursu claimed Demir had accepted his proposal and, while fetching champagne from the car, she fell. However, investigations revealed contradictions in his account. Notably, the engagement ring was found in its box in Gursu's pocket, contrary to his story.
Moreover, broken glasses discovered at the proposal location suggested a potential struggle, further fueling suspicions. Demir's family disclosed to authorities her intentions to end the relationship, casting doubt on Gursu's narrative that she had agreed to marry him.
