It's a big week at the California Science Center!
For the last 11 years, visitors to the center have been able to view the Space Shuttle Endeavor exhibit as it sat horizontally, but in a few weeks it'll be off-limits for a while while the display is changed.
Earlier this year, a pair of 52-ton solid rocket boosters arrived at the center after making the trip from the Mojavie Air and Space Port just north of Lancaster.
This week, those boosters and the shuttle will begin the process of being lifted and secured into an upright, launch-ready position. Officials at the Science Center are calling this process "Go for Stack," and when they're done with the move, it will be the ONLY vertical, launch-ready display of a retired space shuttle in the world.
