During a training exercise on Tuesday, a fire erupted, resulting in at least four Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies being hospitalized.
The incident occurred at a training facility located in Castaic, approximately 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The exact details of the incident remain unclear, as stated by spokeswoman Nicole Nishida.
"We're still trying to determine that,” Nishida says. “We know for sure there was a fire." As of 2:10 p.m. PST, firefighters were still battling the blaze, Nishida says.
While initial reports suggested that two of the deputies were in critical condition, Nishida has stated that the full extent of their injuries remains uncertain. Furthermore, she was unable to provide a specific count of deputies transported to the hospital, indicating that 'several' individuals were affected by the fire.
