ACTON (CNS) - A motorist in an SUV was killed during a single-vehicle rollover crash at a freeway onramp to the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Acton, authorities said Sunday.

The crash at the Santiago Road onramp to the southbound freeway occurred about 9:55 p.m. Saturday and involved a blue Honda CR-V, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The motorist, the lone occupant inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.

A representative from the Medical Examiner's Office was called to the location at 10:15 p.m. and a SigAlert issued at the onramp at 9:55 p.m. Saturday was cancelled at 12:51 a.m.

The SUV apparently careened off the freeway from the north side of Santiago Road, became airborne and crash-landed on the south side of the street before rolling over several times, according to a source at the scene.
