LA County Deputy Fatally Shot; A $250,000 Reward Offered for Information

On Monday, sheriff's deputies and law enforcement officials initiated a search for the individual responsible for fatally shooting a deputy in the vicinity of the Palmdale station.

LA County Sheriff Robert Luna announced a $250,000 reward for critical information regarding the ambush murder of a third-generation Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy.

On Saturday, September 16, a 30-year-old Los Angeles Sheriff's officer was shot and murdered in what is being called an "ambush" attack.

LA County Sheriff Luna continued, "Detectives are in the initial stages of this investigation and seeking the public's assistance to apprehend this suspect."
"He didn't deserve this," Luna said "This is so unfair. We're hurting because we lost somebody. It hurts bad. It sucks, just to put it bluntly. Our hearts absolutely go out to his family."

Around 6 o'clock, deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer was shot while in uniform. The shooter has not yet been named.

During a press conference, sheriff Robert Luna stated, "He was just driving down the street and for no apparent reason — and we're still looking into the specific reasons — somebody decided to shoot and murder him."

Sheriff Luna continued, "Detectives are in the initial stages of this investigation and seeking the public's assistance to apprehend this suspect."
