Starbucks has been ordered to pay an additional $2.7 million to a former employee who claims she was fired because she's white.
- The suit was filed by Shannon Phillips, a former regional director who was fired in 2018 after a scandal involving two black customers who were arrested for trespassing after an employee called 911.
- In June, Phillips was awarded a $25 million settlement after claiming that her race was "a determinative factor" in the coffee chain's decision to terminate her employment.
- This week, an additional $2.7 million in damages was ordered by a federal judge.
