George Clooney Offers Some Thoughts On The Actor's Strike

On July 14, the SAG-AFTRA strike officially began.

It's the first time Hollywood's actors and writers have gone on strike at the same time since Ronald Reagan was president of the Screen Actors Guild in 1960.

The stakes may be higher than ever, driving today's Hollywood leaders, such as George Clooney, to the forefront. During the "early hours of LA time," Clooney told Deadline that "actors and writers in large numbers have lost their ability to make a living."

Clooney stated, "This is an inflection point in our industry," echoing a letter signed by hundreds of high-profile people soon before the strike. That must change if our industry is to survive. That road begins now for performers."
