Peloton Recalls 2.2 Million Exercise Bikes Due To Bike Seat Hazard

Peloton has issued a recall on more than 2 million of its best-selling bikes. The reason for the recall is due to a safety hazard with the bike seats on certain models. The affected seats are at risk of breaking, which can cause injury to the rider.

The recall is for bikes with the model number PL-01 that were sold between January of 2018 and May of 2023. According to the recall notice issued on Thursday, there have been 35 reports of broken seats. Of those, 13 involved injuries such as fractured wrists, lacerations, and bruises due to falling off the bike.

Peloton has announced that they will send affected users free repair kits. The company encourages users to check the model number of their bike and to contact Peloton if their bike is affected by the recall. Peloton has also stated that they are working on developing new bike seats that will be available in the coming months.
