Three NYPD officers were injured when they were attacked by a machete-wielding man during New Year's Eve festivities in Times Square.
- The attack took place at 10pm Saturday, just outside the security screening area. Two officers were hit in the head by the machete blade before the suspect was shot in the shoulder and taken into custody.
- Police say the suspect, identified as a 19-year-old male, had posted "jihadist writings" online.
