China is getting ready to finally end its longstanding mandatory COVID-19 quarantine for incoming travelers.
China's National Health Commission announced on Monday that the policy would officially end on January 8th.
Under the current rules, travelers must quarantine for five days at a hotel, then three days at home. Earlier on during the pandemic, mandatory quarantines could last up to three weeks...
China has pulled back on several COVID-19 restrictions in recent weeks, even as infections surge in many parts of the country. And according to the NHC, "the outbound travel of Chinese citizens will be resumed in an orderly manner."
